很久以前，有个小和尚，想学会理发来帮寺庙的和尚剃发。于是他就开始用冬瓜练习，只是每次打水洗冬瓜时总要顺手把剃刀插到冬瓜上。没多久就学会了如何剃发,当他第一次帮人剃发，去打水洗头时，“顺手”把剃刀插了上去。结果可想而知，小和尚成了杀人犯。
为什么呢?答案很简单。就是因为他用冬瓜作练习时养成了把剃刀插向冬瓜的习惯，尽管为自己的师兄剃发时心里想着这是人不是冬瓜，但手却不听使唤，习惯性地把刀插了上去，因此，是那个小小的坏习惯害了他。
虽然这个故事有几分夸张，但我们应该从自己做起，从我们身边的点滴小事做起，养成好习惯，改掉坏习惯。比如：在公共场所不大声吵闹、不乱丢垃圾;按秩序做事;在校园里，微笑面对老师和同学，热情主动地打招呼问好;学习时，养成正确的读书写字姿势;行走在大街上时，能自觉遵守交通法规，与文明和安全同行;在公共汽车上，能热心地为身边的老人、抱着孩子的乘客让座……“文明”就像空气一样，时刻围绕在我们身边，我们的一举一动都可以体现文明。
