《飘》英文读后感篇1

lots of people may read the masterpiece called.

this is an exciting adventure story about a poor boy who lives in a small inn, the admiral benbow, run by his parents in black hill cove. the boy’s name is jim hawkins. one day, unexpectedly, he finds a treasure map which indicates the treasure hidden by the pirates in skeleton island. then jim, dr. livesey, captain smollett and his friend, with a group of sailors, set out journey for the treasure. after a short time, some greed sailors who are led by long john silver rebel for the map. these two groups fight fiercely. evil can never prevail over good. through each justicial person’s effort, jim and captain smollett win the battle. and later then they go back home with the boat filled with treasure.

at the end of the story, silver runs away with one of the bags of coins, perhaps three or four hundred coins. captain smollett no longer goes to sea. gray, jim’s friend, saves his money and now is a half-owner and captain of a fine ship. ben gunn, who is marooned by pirates, gets a thousand pounds. however, he spends all his money in three weeks. then he has to beg and luckily is given a job as a gatekeeper when he comes back.

though i don’t have a chance to adventure as jim does, the face of jim often appears in my mind. jim is a kind-hearted, brave and ambitious boy. he can always find a good way to solve the problems or beat the pirates.

and this book shocks me when i read this part: you are in trouble. ship lost, treasure lost, men lost. and if you want to know who did it—it was me! i was in the apple barrel the night we saw the island, and i heard every word you said. and the ship? it was me who cut her ropes and killed the men aboard her……why am i shocked? because i can’t believe a young boy has such great courage to say those words, and this is admired by me.

there’s someone i admire, and of course, there’s someone i hate, like silver. what i can only find from the pirates are cruelty and selfishness. he kills people without mercy and even becomes crueler. his sole pursuit of treasure results in his red hand never dry.

although it is only a novel, the scenes of the novel always come to my mind. it gives me a lesson. we can’t be selfish, because the selfish one only focuses on himself and can commit immorality or even crimes when trying to protect his own interest. we can see the justice of the spiritual wealth from jim.

what’s more, in my point of view, we should save money in the bank instead of wasting it in our daily life. wasting money is a bad behavior. the less money we use, the higher spirit level we will have. if we use up our money like ben gunn one day, we will be in a big trouble.

as a saying goes, “no pain, no gain”。 if we try our best to do everything as jim, i think we will make more progress in many fields.

that’s all. thank you.

《飘》英文读后感篇2

the first impression that the boy tom gave me was a naughty, mischievous boy, just as what aunt polly said. he never lacked the curiosity to explore new places, sometimes even risking his life, which i did not dare to! there were some great adventures of him with huck or joe. huck was an orphan, and joe was tom’s classmate. everybody in the small village knew tom, mainly for tom’s—you know kind of gallantry!

i should tell you the adventures. the origin of the attempt was that tom and huck was getting curious to the world of outside, and they made an effort to run-away. however, when they were in the graveyard, some people appeared. they were injun joe, huck’s father, named potter, and a doctor. tom and huck quickly hid behind the bush, and they saw them digging the coffins out, probably finding something valuable. they did not realize that what they witnessed was a murder! tom and huck were extremely afraid, and they ran away rapidly. on the court, potter was being accused of the murderer; however, tom declared that it was injun joe who used potter’s knife to kill the young doctor. on hearing this, injun joe broke the glass and ran away! this scared everybody, and tom’s brother, sid, said that he always heard tom mumbling something when he was asleep, and sometimes even shouting. indeed, the accident was fluttering everybody in the town with fear.

before, tom once fell in love with a girl called lawrence. and he showed off in front of the girl, trying to win the girl’s heart, but lawrence ignored tom’s appearance, and it made tom sad. at present, tom went for another girl for becky. yet, when becky knew that tom once loved lawrence (it was probably childish thoughts), she refused tom. tom got so depressed that he resolutely committed the second escape.

he made contact with huck and joe that afternoon, about where to meet, the code words of meeting, and the route, and so on and so forth. each of them brought some food, and huck brought some pipes (remind that huck had no real home, and i had no ideas where he got the things). at midnight, they met at the place, and they took a raft down the river. after drifting for about several hours, they finally reached the destiny. there they lived for about several weeks, and while everybody thought they were drowned, they had a great time. they were no problems of food or water shortages. they promised to be a pirate, and would live there forever.

if you were out from your relatives for a long time, wouldn’t you miss home? it was the same for those children. after several weeks, joe felt that he missed home very much, and tom could not seem to stop him. on this, tom brought joe and huck his secret—

on one night, when the rest of the boys fell asleep (of course they slept outside), tom crept from the camp, and headed toward the town. he sneaked to his aunt’s room, and hid under the bed, while everybody- mary (tom’s sister), sid, aunt polly and joe harper’s mother were having a meeting. there were a lot of tears, about how the boys were killed, and how they would treat the boys if they ever lived again, such things. tom almost wanted to get out of the bed and hug aunt polly, but he couldn’t. at last, everybody went to sleep. tom went out from the bed, and flew to the camp. that was the secret— that the boys will go to their own funeral!

while the boys were outside, all of the people in the town were discussing about the accidents. the town was immediately covered with a sense of doom. so the funeral was raised. everybody wore a black suit, and they prayed something along with the priest. just then, they saw somebody entering the gate, and what they saw was unbelievable. three young souls came out from their coffins and showed up in front of everybody! the change of the atmosphere was imaginable. aunt polly, joe harper’s mother, mary and sid were astounded to find that tom came so vivid in front of them, and so tom and joe became a hero in the school, even in the town.

the real adventures of tom were finding the treasures.

《飘》英文读后感篇4

it is universally acknowledged that the eternal theme of jane austens novels is the choice people make for marriage partners, so is in pride and prejudice. mrs. bonnet had no other wish if her five daughters could get married as soon as possible with someone wealthy. at a dancing ball, it is obvious that mr. bingley could not help falling in love at the first sight with miss jane because of her stunning beauty. mrs. benne was so excited that she could not hold her manner and declared publicly she would ha一ve a daughter married soon, which frightened mr. bingley away. mr. collins, a distance nephew of mr. bennet, came to ask a marriage to one of his cousins before mrs. bennet was able to get clear why mr. bingley left suddenly.

after receiving the hint from mrs. bennet that jane already had an admirer, mr. collins turned to elizabeth without wasting a minute and to miss charlotte lucas two days later after refused by elizabeth. it was difficult for mrs. bennet to recover herself as a result of the“deadly stupid” decision made by elizabeth until she got the news that lydia finally married mr. wickham, though the marriage was built on the basis of ten thousand pounds. mr. darcy offered the money and did everything departing from his will just because he loved elizabeth so much. he could not hide his feelings any more and showed his affection to elizabeth at last, who, because of a series of misunderstandings towards him, rejected him without hesitation. this plot is the climax of the novel as the prejudice of elizabeth to mr. darcy was exposed and removed since then. and the combination of the two young couples, jane and bingley, elizabeth and darcy came at last.

《飘》英文读后感篇6

great expectations is a novel by charles dickens, a famous writer from england. it is the story of the orphan pip’s life. the character in this novel gave me the deep impression was pip.he fell in love with estella. educating himself for the girl, pip studied as hard as he could.

why did he love estella so much? not for her beautiful face, her treasure . pip paid out so much for the love. althoughestella didnt treat him well and even that she didnt respect him at all! she put the food for him as a dog,but he didnt hate her. on the contrary, he left from his home with pip/s friends. pip just wanted to be a gentleman.

he abandoned a lot than he got. i cant understand why he do it in this way. i think its not worth at all. if one person dont like you or not respect you, you neednt do everything for her. so it made me quite sad. i feel sorry for pip. he had a very difficult life... miss havisham is also a character who left me a deep impression .she was a poor lady. her mother died young. her farther was very rich and very proud with only one child, miss havisham, is his first wife.

in fact, miss havisham should have a nice life, but her wedding was destroyed by her fiance. he broke her heart and she was angry.she wanted to retaliate all men. she was really a kind woman. but she chose a wrong way to continue her life. miss havisham wanted to hurt other persons. and she had done. this was not good for her. only made her feel a little comfortable but there were also more victims in the world.

the above is what i get from the novel in the textbook and to conclude my opinion in one sentence, i should say that people should not depend on others.

《飘》英文读后感篇7

little princethis is a fairytale whose distribution volume is only second to the bible. it’s been translated to versions of many other languages. and i gather there must be something special, something really great about it. it’s this conviction that drove me to read it at the first beginning. well, with due respect to the author, i failed to see how this fairytale be worthy of our attention, despite the fact that many readers claimed this book to be designed for adults.anyway, as a well-acknowledged book, it must possess unique feature to maintain it’s position. and it’s reputation and popularity will by no means be destroyed by what an unknown man says. i will talk about the main contents of the book, and the inspiration it renders as usual.

this book mainly tells us the experience of a prince from a tiny planet, who traveled to many other planets and finally came to the earth and met the pilot in a desert. the prince and the pilot became good friends, and the pilot gradually got to know the feeling and experience of his friend. before he came to the earth, little prince had been to other 6 little planets where he made acquaintance with some strange people. the first man he met was a king on a little planet, yet he claimed to be the king of the space and ridiculously justified his unshakable governance over all. the second person was a man of vanity, who enjoyed compliments of any form without considering whether it’s sincere or not. the third person was an alcoholic who tried to forget the fact that he’s addicted to acohol by drinking like a fish. the fourth person was an abosolute money-oriented businessman, who cared nothing but his fortune. next came the lamp-lighter who performed his duty blindly. the last one was a geographer who knew too much about geography to solve a real problem related to it. these six people each represented one kind of person like us. the author satirized people’s conceit, emptiness, fakeness, innocence and blindness through the tone of a child.i see eye to eye with the author in that the cause of people’s loneliness can be concluded to the negligence of the bonds that connects them. people are supposed to care about each other, cherish what’s really important for them, and be grateful for the happiness that they’ve gained. we all believe knowledge and experience enable us to see clearly and make right judgements all the time. but we may sometimes lose the right to speak straighforwardly, think creatively or love courageously resulting from what we’ve experienced. that why in our middle school textbooks, it’s the little kid that breaks the illusion of the emperor by saying ”but mum, he ain’t were anything”.

when i was a child, i was definitely a good boy who went home on time after school and did his homework and never tried anything without mom’s permission. and now i am a grown-up, and still i am a good man, at least, that’s what i heard. sometimes when i was lonely and i began to think about my childhood, then all the happiness and care-freelife came back to me as it were yesterday. kids that once accompanied me during my childhood now become fathers and mothers of their kids and i myself am a child no more. thinking about all these things have made me moody. there’re changes happening in our lives whether we are happy about it or not.people told me life is a journey which will never stop once it’s started. what’s left behind are happiness and sorrow, pride and shame, success and regret. there’s good old time to reminisce and there’s sad hours that reminds us of the pain. your feeling makes them real, and you know you lived.i want to conclude by saying some positive words that each yestersday used to be today, and each today is the future of yesterday, so making the most of today is the best way to cherish your lives. our mortal beings are doomed to die. it’s not sad, instead, death it’s just a process of our lives.

after all, we’ve lived our lives and it’s what we do and how we think that determine who we are.(when you look at the above passages, don’t regard it as a composition or an article, because if you do, you will be puzzled at the structure. it’s just a few words that come to my mind at the moment and i type them.)have a nice day!

《飘》英文读后感篇8

the prince said, "your men grow five thousand roses in a garden, but they do not find what you want from them.".

this book is about love. meet people with similar height, resonates with ideas, emotional patterns, is not so great courage to fling caution to the winds, youth ignorant impulse, is looking forward to more more stand up to a good fit, so youthful fearless surging. people are only willing to see all the good, ta, that is exactly in accordance with the ideals created by the characters.

"you are always responsible for what you have tamed," said the fox. "as long as you put your heart into it, the things you are looking for can be found in every rose or in a little water," said the little prince. xinweicucu yan, it takes two people to each other are very firm, only one firm combination of another party constantly because of fear and give up to fruition will be difficult. the old marriage began to believe that good, two people holding firm inalienable determination to make time and patience to accumulate down, hands and hold together.

what is growth, growth is to confront, fear, and experience fear. only through fear can we broaden our boundaries. love is the same, irreplaceable love from rational judgment after the storm tide never abandon the fundamentals of fit, now the temptation price is far not meet the eye everywhere, betrayal to a collapse, so even if not stick to five thousand roses but couldn't find the flower of the one and only she.

there are so many people in the world who agree with themselves. if you are looking forward to the love of the little prince, then be yourself, when you meet that person, fearless love, like blind love. now we have read countless people, read a few eye can identify each other and their fit, we are not short of skills but the courage and commitment, so think of the love, like never been hurt.
