hemingway often thought of courage as a persons ability to be calm and controlled in the face of death.his theme is presented in his novel "for whom the bell tolls?" the story "the old man and the sea" and in our textbook "a days wait".by misunderstanding a different thermometer the boy thought he was running a high fever and would soon die.but he took his death bravely and waited quietly for it.the boy showed us he had courage.
i think such a definition of courage is far from enough.courage should not be limited and related only to death.in ordinary life there are common things that also show a persons courage.for example,on a bus trip,a thief was trying to steal a girls purse.some people saw it,but kept quiet.they were afraid to be revenged by the thief.the brave stood out and stopped the thief.
courage means truth and justice to me.the person in a high position often hear songs in praise of him.some people are sincere.some are only flattering the superior in their own favor.the leader also needs courage to welcome criticism as well as those who have the courage to criticize him.such courage may come from mutual understanding.i think a man of courage will value truth and justice,and not hesitate in his actions to do what he thinks is right,there is no such word as fear in his dictionary.

good morning everyone, it's my pleasure to be here and talk about dreams and ambitions with you. when i was a primary school student i wrote in my composition that i want to be a scientist when i grow up. at that age i didn't know what is a scientist, nor did i know what is dream. i wrote it because it's a standard answer for a composition test. and i know if i wrote that i want to be a peasant i would be criticized and laughed at, no matter what reason i gave it. but now in university, one of my classmates changed my idea. at the career planning class when asked about our dreams, one of my classmates stood up and said, " i want to be a peasant because i grow up in a peasant family and i love it." no laughter, no criticism, he was the only who winned a clapping.
it sets me thinking, which should be a man's dream? a scientist, or a peasant? it's not a simple question and my answer is both. this is exactly my understanding of this topic. dreams are something we really want and are willing to try every effort to achieve, no matter how great or how small, no matter how others think, it depends on you.
life is long, and we are just on the starting point. finally we'll understand life is not just about making a living. there're something much more important than money and material enjoyment, that is spiritual wealth, that is dream. it's the process of your pursuit of dream, the process when you are trying, when you are seeking, when you are struggling, when you failed and restarted again and again with your determination, hardwork, and perseverance that make you, build you, and help you to lead a worthy and significative life, whether you'll achieve your dream or not, the result is not that important.

小鸟拥有一颗勇敢的心。这只勇敢的小鸟向我描绘一幅绚丽的风景。
在偶然的一瞬，我的心灵被震撼到了。一只断翅的雏作文鸟，不知被哪个狠心的母亲所抛弃，还是孤苦伶仃的鸟儿。它在一块巨大的石头旁躺着。艰难的抬起头，怜悯的眼神望着天空，摇摇摆摆地站起来。看着它摇摇欲坠，我的心也随着它而担心。
一声雷响，哗啦哗啦的下起了雨。我连忙躲到亭子下避雨。顿时，我的视线模糊了。这只小鸟一步一步地冲上石头，展开翅膀飞翔。随着一声雷响，小鸟重重地摔了下来，瞬间站起来，继续朝着石头冲。借着石头去拥抱蓝天。可是每一次都失败，一道闪电从我眼前飞过，吓得我魂都没有了，但小鸟不怕他有一颗勇敢的心。

常老师是我小学六年级时的语文老师，她经常在我需要点勇气时，给我吹来“勇敢的气”。
学校要举办读书节与艺术节的演出。上午，老师在班中挑选演出的人员。我们班主要表演朗诵，所以老师让同学轮流朗诵诗。
我非常想参加，可又不敢。妈妈说我没有艺术细胞，刚才老师说还要唱歌，我想还是不参加了，免得丢人。老师叫到我，我像霜打的茄子，说了一声不参加。
中午放学前，老师特意补充道：“还想参加的人下午还有机会，中午回家练练。”听了这句话， 我心中绽开了灿烂的笑容.。
路上，我的思想一直在做斗争：
“你还是不要参加了，又没有艺术细胞，有什么资格参加!”黑暗的小人说。
“不行!在没有艺术细胞，也要去参加，你得突破自己，不可以胆小!”代表着光明的小人说。
最终，我决定抱着一丝希望去参加。中午我苦读苦练了半小时，信心十足地上学。
到了学校，看到参加的人实力那么强，我自己觉得我不行，就决定不参加了。
第二天一早，我来到学校，坐到座位上。见老师脸上挂着迷人的微笑，迈着轻快的步伐向我走来，在我身边坐下：
“你昨天怎么不报名参加呢?”老师温柔地问。
妈妈说我没有艺术细胞。我小声、胆怯地在心里说，但始终没有说出来。
老师接着说：“其实老师是很希望你参加的,”我的泪珠在眼中打转，“你应该克服你的胆小，勇敢地站起来，展示出你的光彩!”
我点了点头，头低下去。
老师走后，我的泪珠再也忍不住了，流了下来。虽然老师鼓励我参加，但我还是鼓不起来勇气。

然而，我们现在人，似乎太依赖技术与科技。再也没有以前的勤奋，总是快餐式地完成每一件事，快餐式的读书、快餐式的旅游、快餐式的梦想。然而只一味的读书，并不了解其中意义，何来煮酒论英雄?只是快餐式的前行，怎么能体会出祖国之美。然而古代人民骑一头毛驴足足走了三个月，他说得出哪里草肥马壮，哪里风高学厚，不用勇气慢慢地去体会，怎么会发现这些美丽。否则这只不是一张地图罢了。快餐式的梦想更需要改变，我们不能只有三分钟热度。我们要有勇气去努力前行，这样我们才能将梦想实现。
