初中英语演讲作文篇3
dear teachers, dear students,
the theme of the speech under the flag today is to commemorate qu yuan, thedragon boat festival.
everyone knows that the fifth day of the fifth lunar month is thetraditional festival of the chinese nation -- the dragon boat festival. so howdoes the dragon boat festival come from? the dragon boat festival is also calledthe terminal five, the meaning of the "end" is the same as the "beginning" andthe "end five" is also called "the first five". the "five" words of the terminalfive are connected with the "noon", which is the "noon" month. it is also called"duanyang" because of the noon hour. on may 5, the month and the day were five,so weighed five, also called the great noon. in addition, there are many othernames in the dragon boat festival, such as: summer festival, bath orchidfestival, girl's day, the festival of heaven, the earth, the poet's day, and soon.
the name of the dragon boat festival is more than that. and that's exactlywhat happened. there are at least four or five theories about the origin of thedragon boat festival. the wu yue national totem festival; starting from threegenerations of summer solstice; the evil month of evil days, and so on. so far,the idea of the most influential dragon boat festival origin is to commemoratequ yuan. in the field of folk culture, the dragon boat race and dragon boat raceare the main customs of the dragon boat festival. legend has it that the ancientpeople of the state of chu were forced to die in the river, and many peoplerowed to the rescue. they rushed to the lake and disappeared. the dragon boat isthen on may 5 each year. use the dragon boat to disperse the fish in the river,so as not to eat the body of qu yuan. the practice of the race is popular in wu,yue and chu.
the dragon boat festival eats zongzi, which is another traditional customof the chinese people. zongzi, also called "corn", "zongzi". it has a longhistory. every year in early may, the chinese people will soak glutinous rice, wash zongzi and make zongzi, and they will have more variety. from the filling, the beijing date zongzi, which is covered in the north, is covered with jujube.in the south, there is a variety of fillings such as bean paste, fresh meat, hamand egg yolk, which is represented by jiaxing zongzi in zhejiang province. thecustom of eating zongzi, which has been popular in china for thousands of years, has been popular in north korea, japan and southeast asia.
china has a long history of traditional culture.
in order to pass on the patriotic tradition of qu yuan, we must study hardand make progress every day. thank you very much.
duanwu festival (端午节,duānwū jié) is a traditional chinese festival held onthe fifth day of the fifth month of the chinese calendar.it is also known as thedouble fifth.[citation(引用;引证) needed] it has since been celebrated,in variousways,in other parts of east asia as well.in the west,it's commonly known asdragon boat festival.
the exact origins of duan wu are unclear, but one traditional view holdsthat the festival memorializes the chinese poet qu yuan (c.340 bc-278 bc) of thewarring states period.he committed suicide by drowning himself in a riverbecause he was disgusted by the corruption of the chu government.the localpeople, knowing him to be a good man, decided to throw food into the river to feedthe fish so they would not eat qu's body.they also sat on long, narrow paddleboats called dragon boats, and tried to scare the fish away by the thunderingsound of drums aboard the boat and the fierce looking carved dragon head on theboat's prow(船头).
in the early years of the chinese republic, duan wu was also celebrated as"poets' day," due to qu yuan's status as china's first poet of personalrenown(名声名望).
today, people eat bamboo-wrapped steamed glutinous(粘的) rice dumplings calledzongzi (the food originally intended to feed the fish) and race dragon boats inmemory of qu's dramatic death.
还有:
some holidays are so much fun that they catch on outside of theirculture.the most obvious example is probably christmas, which is celebratedaround the world by people who aren't even christian.similarly,in recentyears, the dragon boat festival has moved beyond china to become an internationalholiday celebrated by people who may know little about the holiday'sorigins.
the dragon boat festival is one of three major chinese holidays, along withthe spring and moon festivals.of the three,it is possibly the oldest, dating backto the warring states period in 227 b.c.the festival commemorates qu yuan, aminister in the service of the chu emperor.despairing over corruption atcourt,qu threw himself into a river.townspeople jumped into their boats andtried in vain to save him.then, hoping to distract hungry fish from his body, thepeople scattered rice on the water.
over the years, the story of qu's demise transformed into the traditions ofracing dragon boats and eating zongzi – a kind of rice wrapped in bambooleaves.the races have certainly captured the imagination of people from all overthe world.every spring there are nearly 60 dragon boat races held outside ofchina in cities from vancouver to sydney, from gdańsk,poland to cape town, southafrica.canada alone has nearly 50 dragon boat teams and germany has nearly30.
so what is it about the dragon boat festival that appeals toforeigners?“it's an unusual sport,” says one racer from germany.“it's not likeeverybody's doing it.that's one of the reasons that there's such great teamspirit in a dragon boat team – everybody feels like we're doing somethingspecial.” and what about the zongzi?“ehhh, they're not bad,i guess,” hesays.“something of an acquired taste.i just haven't really acquired it yet.”

初中英语演讲作文篇6
every one of us, rich or poor, should at least have one or two good friends. my friends will listen to me when i want to speak, will wipe my eyes when i cry, will take care of me when i am sick, and my friends will go together with me side by side through this journey of life.
as students, we could share more time with our friends. the friendship in our young hearts is pure, fresh and simple. i often feel very lucky to have a lot of good friends. especially when i had justin as one of my best friends. justin was my english teacher from the usa. i met him in 1996 when i was a student who could only speak very little english. justin was a vivid young man with a bright smile on his face, and he always had his special way to make the class active and attractive. he taught us english by telling stories, playing games, singing songs, and even dancing.
i could still remember very clearly that one afternoon when we fin-ished our class, we went to some other classes to sing songs for them, just like what people do in the states on christmas eve. it was so interesting and unforgettable. justin was an excellent teacher, because he taught us not only how to study english well, but also the way to find out the beauty of the world and the way to be angels to others' lives. i know there was friendship and pure love in our hearts. facing this valuable emotion neither nationality nor age was important, the real importance lay in faith, under-standing, and care. justin is the best friend i have ever had, and i know i will cherish those days of staying together with him as the best part of my memory.
